CISSP Certification Tips

Earning the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is no easy feat. It is widely considered one of the toughest exams in the cyber security industry. But with the right approach and resources, it is possible to pass the CISSP exam in just two months of study.

I know, because I did it.

When I first decided to pursue the CISSP certification, I was intimidated by the prospect of studying for such a challenging exam. But I knew that the CISSP was a highly respected and valuable certification in the industry, and I was determined to earn it.

The first thing I did was to set a goal for myself: I would take the CISSP exam in just two months. This may sound ambitious, but I knew that having a clear deadline would help keep me motivated and focused.

Next, I set out to find the best resources to help me study. I did a lot of research and found several great options:

  • The CISSP Certification course with Thor Pedersen: This was my go-to resource for studying. The course is a personal plan for 25 AUD, and it provided me with a comprehensive understanding of all the domains covered on the CISSP exam. Thor’s course is very well structured and easy to understand, and it helped me to feel confident and prepared for the exam.
  • CISSP Mind maps from the YouTube channel “Destination Certification”: These mind maps were a lifesaver for me. They were free and helped me to understand complex concepts in a very simple way. These mind maps were very effective in helping me to remember the important points and concepts of the CISSP exam.
  • Coffee shots with Prabh Nair: This is a YouTube channel that offers free CISSP exam tips and tricks. Prabh Nair is a very experienced CISSP and he provides a lot of great advice on how to approach the exam. His videos were very helpful in giving me the extra boost of confidence I needed to succeed.
  • Bosson CISSP Practice Exam: This practice exam was a must-have for me. It provided me with 700 questions across all domains, with great explanations. It was a great way to test my knowledge and identify my weak areas. It cost 99 AUD, but it was worth every penny.

But the most important tip I would give to anyone studying for the CISSP exam is this: Do not study and then book the exam when you are ready. Book the exam and then study with the target date in mind. This way, you will be ready by then.

This may sound counterintuitive, but it worked for me. By booking the exam first, I had a clear deadline to work towards, and I knew that I needed to be ready by a certain date. This kept me motivated and focused, and it helped me to stay on track with my studying.

In the end, I passed the CISSP exams. It was a tough exam, but with the right resources and approach, it is possible to pass in just two months of study.

I hope this article will be helpful for those who are preparing for the CISSP exam. Remember, with the right mindset and resources, you can achieve anything. Good luck!
